Who it is for

Invoice Discounting is for MSMEs and start-ups that have delivered and invoiced, and are waiting on payment from a reputable debtor.

  • Your products or services have been delivered and your debtor is satisfied
  • Your debtor is central government, a regional council, a local authority, a state-owned enterprise or a reputable private company
  • The invoice has been issued
  • You are willing to cede the invoiced amount to Bellatrix

How it works

  1. Deliver and invoiceYou supply the materials or render the service and issue your invoice to the debtor.
  2. ApplyYou apply to Bellatrix for the invoice discounting facility with the invoice and proof of delivery.
  3. Cession agreementYou, Bellatrix and the debtor sign a cession agreement so the invoice amount is paid into Bellatrix’s bank account.
  4. Facility agreementYou sign a contract with Bellatrix acknowledging the facility.
  5. You are paid nowBellatrix pays up to 90% of the invoice value to you.
  6. Debtor settlesOn the due date, 100% of the invoice value is paid into Bellatrix’s bank account.

Documents you need

Have these ready before you start. Bellatrix will confirm the final list for your application.

Your facility

  • The issued invoice
  • Proof of delivery or completion, confirmed by the debtor
  • A completed Bellatrix application form

Your business

  • Entity registration documents for a close corporation, private company or trust
  • Good standing certificates from NAMRA and the Social Security Commission
  • MSME certificate

KYC for each member, shareholder or director

  • Namibian ID or valid passport for each member, shareholder, director, sole proprietor, trustee, beneficiary and authorised signatory (police stamp not older than 3 months)
  • Latest proof of residence for each of the above (municipal bill, lease agreement or police declaration)
  • For non-Namibian residents: foreign ID or passport, or permanent residence permit, plus proof of residence
  • If married or divorced: marriage certificate, spouse’s ID or antenuptial contract, or divorce decree
  • Proof of business address (municipal bill or lease agreement)
  • Proof of bank account (bank confirmation letter)
  • 6 months’ bank statements for the business (existing businesses only)
  • 6 months’ personal bank statements for each member, shareholder, sole proprietor, trustee or beneficiary
  • Balance sheet of assets and liabilities for each member, shareholder, sole proprietor, trustee or beneficiary (template provided)
